Technical Assessment

Assessing Your Technology

DirectPointe’s Technical Assessment analysis is administered by certified information systems auditors and has been designed to provide an in-depth evaluation of all current IT services, systems and processes. The technical analysis document provides a holistic snapshot of how the IT infrastructure supports core business operations. The IT infrastructure analysis can be used to either provide formalized IT solutions to address the business risks and increase the efficiency of the operation, or it can be used as a blueprint for other IT support and services providers.

This report breaks down the IT Infrastructure into seven components:

  • IT Environmental and Physical Controls
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Servers
  • Desktops/Laptops/Personal Computers/PDA
  • Printers
  • Telephony
  • Applications

The Value of a Technical Assessment

The value of the technical assessment lies in the findings of your current IT solutions including IT support and the IT infrastructure. These findings provide you with knowledge and awareness of the systems costs and the risks and controls your company has in ensuring reliable and secure IT infrastructure solutions and performance for your staff’s needs.

The value of the technical assessment is shown in two ways:

  • A holistic gathering of all components within your business environment including people, processes and technologies
  • A standardized audit methodology providing a best-of-breed audit report

The information gathered in this report will address the technology needs for your business where IT solutions are essential. A clear blueprint of your current IT support services and computing environment will ensure that you have a proper roadmap demonstrating how to improve the health of your IT infrastructure. This documentation will also provide a gateway into clearly identifying key applications, problems, and/or risks that pose a threat to the ongoing operations and regulatory compliance in your IT environment.

The technical assessment is detailed in three sections, which includes a summary, analysis and a scoring system based on an evaluation of the current IT services and infrastructure:

Section Audience
Executive Summary – High Level Business Owners, C-level and core management-team.
IT Infrastructure Report – Medium Level Management and Operations.
Detailed Findings – Low Level Engineers, Technicians and Auditors.

Getting Results
