DirectPointe Acquires Sweet Spot Solutions

Lindon, UT, (Tuesday, November 20, 2007) — DirectPointe Acquires Sweet Spot Solutions

DirectPointe, a leader in IT outsourcing services, today announced the acquisition of Sweet Spot Solutions (S3) and its patented, clientless VPN technology for flash memory devices that makes remote network access simpler and more secure.

The Mesa, Ariz.-based Sweet Spot Solutions enables remote access through a virtual private network (VPN) from almost any Internet-enabled terminal. The software resides on a portable USB flash drive, so it requires no install and leaves no trace on the host computer. Users simply insert the thumb drive into a USB port and authenticate to the drive and then the remote network. It is the industry’s first two-factor authentication combined with a VPN on a USB flash drive.

“With DirectPointe’s acquisition of S3, we are gaining both innovative technology and talented people that complement our company and offerings,” said DirectPointe CEO Michael Proper. “With the technology we are adding another security layer to our network, server and PC services and extending additional benefits to our customers. The expertise of the people will help us continue to pioneer new solutions that make technology simple, manageable and affordable.”

Proper continued, “As data becomes increasingly accessible and distributed, the need to securely authenticate users becomes more critical. This is especially important as users move from storing data locally on hard drives to accessing data from remote devices such as cell phones and USB drives or distributed applications on the Internet like Google Apps. This acquisition will enable DirectPointe customers using S3’s patented clientless VPN technology to simply and securely access data remotely.”

This marks the third acquisition for DirectPointe in 2007 as the company experiences award-winning growth. With growth in revenue, customers and partnerships, DirectPointe continues to focus on delivering customer value by providing outsourced IT solutions that are unique to each customer’s needs.

Justin Beck, CEO of Sweet Spot Solutions said, “We are excited to add Sweet Spot's technology to DirectPointe's intellectual property portfolio. DirectPointe's CentralPointe Server and infrastructure provide the resources to take our product to a much broader market, and we are enthusiastic about working with DirectPointe's team.”

Chad Swensen, president of Sweet Spot Solutions said, “This acquisition empowers us to leverage new and existing opportunities for Sweet Spot’s technology. The blending of the Sweet Spot product offering and the combined talent and technology of both organizations enables us to provide customers with innovative solutions and grow the company, both domestically and internationally."
